If your student needs a little extra help in math, or if they just love math so much that they want some extra math challenges (yes, those kids do exist!) then you’ll want to check out this math workbook for kids.
Rather than teaching kids math facts or methods, Becoming a Problem Solving Genius challenges them to think mathematically. Each page is like a giant logic puzzle that uses math skills than rote memorization work. It feels more like sitting down to a sudoku game than to math homework.
The book has five difficulty levels, so your student can work themselves up from beginner to expert. On the other hand, this means you can use the same book with kids at almost any math level, from 4th grade to 12th grade. We love a great multi-use book.
To be honest, this is the type of book that tempted me to sit down with my son and see if I could figure out some of the more challenging problems alongside him, which adds to that game-like feel. (He may have figured them out faster than I did.)
I’d recommend this for supplemental work during the school year—maybe even build in a “fun math” day to your schedule to break things up. And, of course, it’s also great for that infamous “summer math workbook” use. Every kids’ favorite.
