Over the past year or so I’ve had the real pleasure of discovering and discussing new books with a group of friends in a new book club. We meet once a month at someone’s house, and the host cooks a main course. We keep it simple — soup, chicken, pasta. The rest of us bring sides, dessert, wine. We each pick a book we’d like to discuss, and if you picked the book, you lead the discussion. Twice a year (July and December) we participate a book swap.
I’ve loved reading and discussing these books with these women. It’s so fun to discover a book you loved that you know you never would have read if it hadn’t been for their recommendation. Sipsworth is one that I never would have picked up, but it’s one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. Lila is one I probably would have given up on if I hadn’t had a meeting coming up to discuss it, but I’m so glad I didn’t.
Book Club Discussion Guides . . . Now Available!
In celebration of the joy this book club has brought me, I wanted to share discussion guides for each of our books (and some other favorites of mine). On the site, just click on the Book Club Discussion Guides tab to see the list of all the discussion guides you can download, as well as a link to order copies of the book for your club. I’m asking for $3 donations for each download, just to cover my time in making them. But it’s the honor system, here. (And note, I do make a small commission when you buy the books through my link.)
I hope you’ll love these books as much as we have. So take a look at the discussion guides list and see if anything looks interesting to you!
