Dear reader,
I’ve written before about some of the challenges and joys that come with being a special needs mom. I wrote this post about Maggie’s speech in 2021, and as of today she still speaking no new words. And I’m still hopeful that one day she will. We expect Maggie will require full time care for her whole life. And it’s an honor we don’t take lightly.
One of Maggie’s favorite activities is art. She’ll spend hours (like, literally 4-5 hours) coloring or watercoloring, and then cutting up the picture into tiny bits that she may or may not glue onto a new piece of paper, creating vibrant collages. Lately, we’ve been generating coloring pages for her online based on themes she’s interested in or what’s happening around her—like the changing seasons.

Of course, one of the biggest concerns we have as special needs parents is setting aside enough money to care for our adult child with special needs when we’re gone, so that the burden doesn’t fall on our other children. In honor of Maggie’s love of art, we’ve decided to turn these coloring pages into a book available for purchase on Amazon. All the proceeds of these books will go straight into a fund for Maggie.
We’ve launched with a fall-themed doodling page, and we’ll continue to add other volumes that are of interest to her. Christmas will probably come next, followed by winter, spring…you get the picture.
So if you’re into coloring to relax yourself, or if you have a child in your life who is, we’d love for you to get a copy of the Fall Doodle Coloring Book that is Inspired by Hana (Maggie’s real first name) to entertain you on these beautiful fall days.
